Priced to sell: The Nokia Lumia 900 will debut on AT&T in March for $99.99, according to BGR

by Mike Macias 01.26.2012
the nokia lumia 900 cyan

According to the tech blog Boy Genius Report, a leaked AT&T roadmap shows the Nokia Lumia 900 arriving on AT&T in March for $99.99 with a 2-year contract. The specs of the Lumia 900 place it in the high-end of the Windows Phone lineup, and the speed and performance is comparable to top Android phones, depending on who you ask. While this information hasn’t been confirmed by AT&T, this is something I was hoping for. It’s all too often that a high-end phone debuts at $199.99, which in my opinion, is way too much for any phone if you’re signing 2 years of your life away with an unbreakable contract. This will be a huge win for Nokia if it turns out you can get this device for a hundred bucks. Let’s quickly recap .....

Report: Nokia Lumia 900 coming to the UK, not so exclusive to US

by Mike Macias 01.25.2012
Nokia Lumia 900 coming to the UK

During the Consumer Electronics Show a few weeks ago, Nokia unleashed the Lumia 900 for AT&T and touted its US exclusivity. We all knew the 900 would eventually ship around the world, but I didn’t expect the news to come this quickly. The folks over at WPCentral.com received a reader tip that Carphone Warehouse, a top phone retailer in the UK, briefly published a pre-register page for the Lumia 900. The page has since been removed, but the image below verifies the claim. http://www.carphonewarehouse.com/news/coming-soon/nokia-lumia-900 The Lumia 900 should drop this March on AT&T in the US, and according to Carphone Warehouse we can expect it to land on UK shores in June. A three month difference is significant, and I wonder how reluctant savvy European phone shoppers will be to consider this device .....

Nokia Lumia 800 colors

If you own a Nokia Lumia series smartphone, or any Windows Phone device, you might have noticed a case of the disappearing keyboard. Right now I’m using the Lumia 710 and I’ve seen it happen a few times. It’s not a major issue because it’s not a constant problem, but it can be annoying when it happens at the worst possible time. Reports are coming in that Microsoft is pushing out an update for the Nokia Lumia 800 to address the keyboard bug and a few other fixes. Rafe Blanford from All About Windows Phone reports: The roll out of the 8107 software update for Windows Phone has now begun for Nokia Lumia devices. SIM-free devices should be the first to get the update, with operator branded devices following in .....

Nokia Lumia 800: The Full Review

by Alvin Wong 01.17.2012
Nokia Lumia 800 review

The Nokia Lumia 800 will go down in history as one of the most important Nokia devices ever. The first product of the controversial Nokia – Microsoft partnership, the Lumia 800 unabashedly symbolizes the new Nokia, a maker of smartphones running Windows Phone 7. I considered the Nokia N9 the last real Nokia flagship smartphone; the Lumia 800 is the newest Nokia flagship outside the USA and in this review I’m going to tell you all about it.

by Mike Macias 01.16.2012
Lumia 900 Nokia Wifi Hotspot

We’ve been talking a lot about the Nokia Lumia 900 lately here at Mobile Fanatics. Last week we put the Lumia 900 head to head in photos against the Lumia 800 and Samsung Galaxy S2. The Lumia 900 is making waves right now because it’s the first Windows Phone coming to AT&T that has a Nokia logo at the top of it. One of most popular questions I’ve seen from people interested in the Nokia Lumia series is about Wifi tethering. Is it possible? Vance Kim, the Product Marketing Manager for the Nokia Lumia 900, sat down with a small group of bloggers that Nokia invited to CES and talked to us about their newly announced device. He went through many topics including battery, design, camera flash placement, and availability. I .....

by Mike Macias 01.16.2012
Twitter Notifications Lumia 710

When I first got my hands on the Nokia Lumia 710 last week and got everything set up, Twitter notifications worked great. On the popular “me” tile, I got my latest Facebook and Twitter notifications without a hitch. Then all of a sudden, a few days later, the Twitter notifications stopped working. And now today it seems Microsoft has turned this operation back on!

Here’s another one of our side by side comparisons that you love so much. This time we have the Nokia Lumia 900 and the Lumia 800. The Lumia 900 was announced earlier this week at CES and will be coming exclusively to AT&T in March. Both of these devices are powered by Windows Phone and fit into the high-end smartphone market. Before we go onto the photos, let’s first take a look at the specs. Nokia Lumia 900 vs. 800 specifications Screen: 900 has a 4.3″ screen, 800 has a 3.7″ screen. Both have 480×800 resolution, so the 800 might look sharper. Size: The Lumia 900 is 127.8×68.5×11.5mm, 800 is 116.5×61.2×12.1mm. Turns out the Lumia 900 is .6mm thinner than the Lumia 800.
