Music fans, rejoice! Pandora is finally available for Windows Phone 8 devices right now in the Windows Phone Store. It’s been a long time coming, but the fact that it’s complete and comes with a 1-year ad-free subscription makes up for the delay. There are some third-party apps in the Windows Phone Store that held us over until this official version was released.

Right now I’m rocking out to some music on my Nokia Lumia 920 with the Pandora for Windows Phone app. Check out this hands-on demo video I made this morning that gives you a quick rundown of just about all the features…

Pretty awesome, right? Here is a quick breakdown of the features you’ll find:

  • Pin individual stations to start screen
  • Default WP music controls work just like music player
  • When Kids Corner is activated explicit songs will automatically be filtered
  • All the Pandora basics are there along with artist bio and the “don’t play again” feature
  • Buy songs you like from the Xbox Music Store

The simplistic design of the app matches the Windows interface nicely. According to Asi Behar from the Pandora announcement:

“With its visually flat elements and unique panorama concept of navigation, designing for Windows Phone 8 while keeping our consistent Pandora aesthetic was an exciting challenge and we’re thrilled with the results.”

Indeed, the results are nice. Below is the official video created by Microsoft, showing off all of the Pandora app features…

If you’re not familiar with Pandora it’s an internet radio service that plays music based off of your likes. You can make multiple stations, add artists that interest you, and skip through tracks that you don’t like.
