Best Deal: Galaxy Note for AT&T debuts at Amazon for $249

by Mike Macias 02.19.2012
Galaxy Note Best Price

The highly anticipated Galaxy Note for AT&T is now available at a handful of phone retailers in the US. You can pick it up from AT&T directly for $299, but the best deal on the Galaxy Note we’ve found right now is from Amazon for $249 with free shipping. In terms of Galaxy Note colors, both the carbon blue and the white are available. What makes the Galaxy Note so special?  The biggest thing in my opinion, literally and figuratively, is the screen. The Galaxy Note features a 5.3-inch HD Super AMOLED display with 1280 x 800 resolution that will leave your jaw dropped open for awhile. This makes it the largest screen for a phone on the AT&T network. It runs Android 2.3, but it’s said to be upgraded .....

Priced to sell: The Nokia Lumia 900 will debut on AT&T in March for $99.99, according to BGR

by Mike Macias 01.26.2012
the nokia lumia 900 cyan

According to the tech blog Boy Genius Report, a leaked AT&T roadmap shows the Nokia Lumia 900 arriving on AT&T in March for $99.99 with a 2-year contract. The specs of the Lumia 900 place it in the high-end of the Windows Phone lineup, and the speed and performance is comparable to top Android phones, depending on who you ask. While this information hasn’t been confirmed by AT&T, this is something I was hoping for. It’s all too often that a high-end phone debuts at $199.99, which in my opinion, is way too much for any phone if you’re signing 2 years of your life away with an unbreakable contract. This will be a huge win for Nokia if it turns out you can get this device for a hundred bucks. Let’s quickly recap .....

Nokia Lumia 900 Cyan

In an email sent to Nokia Developers, the official Nokia Developer Newsletter has confirmed that Nokia Lumia 900 will become available exclusively through AT&T in March. Nokia’s newest smartphone, the Nokia Lumia 900, was introduced this week at the International CES 2012 in Las Vegas by Nokia CEO Stephen Elop. The Nokia Lumia 900 phone runs Microsoft Windows Phone 7.5. It is the biggest and fastest smartphone yet. With support from AT&T’s 4G LTE (Long-Term Evolution) network, the Nokia Lumia 900 smartphone will offer high-performance web browsing with Microsoft Internet Explorer Mobile, as well as both video and audio streaming. Other features include a long-lasting battery for all-day use with 1,830mAh; Nokia App Highlights to recommend key applications; two cameras, including an 8-megapixel camera with a Carl Zeiss lens; a 4.3-inch .....

HTC TITAN II for AT&T announced — 16 megapixel camera, 4G LTE, Windows Phone

by Mike Macias 01.11.2012
HTC TITAN II

Nokia wasn’t the only one to announce a high-end Windows Phone this week at CES. HTC made a huge splash by announcing the TITAN II and its 16 megapixel camera. Not to mention a whopping 4.7-inch screen and 4G LTE speeds. The HTC TITAN II will be available on AT&T ‘in the coming months’. Obviously the camera is one of the main selling points of this Windows Phone powered device. Boasting 16 megapixels, the HTC TITAN II should take some great pictures. Or no? Some think it’s a gimmick and it’s not just about the pixels. I tend to agree, although I hope that HTC paid attention to the rest of the camera specs. HTC had this to say about the camera in the press release:

When will the Nokia Lumia 900 be available and why is there no exact date? We tried to get some answers…

by Mike Macias 01.11.2012
Nokia 900

Nokia got lots of buzz this week at the Consumer Electronics show in Vegas about their newly announced Lumia 900 smartphone for AT&T. The buzz wasn’t just about how nice it looks or how smooth Windows Phone is, there was also some chirping about the release date of the Lumia 900 — or lack thereof. Like I mentioned in the Lumia 900 announcement, the official word from Nokia is it will be available in ‘the coming months’. I’ve received confirmation that the 900 will arrive during Quarter 1 which ends in March. My source also assured me that this won’t be another N8 debacle and come at the very end of the quarter (literally the last day). With that said I expect the Nokia Lumia 900 for AT&T to be .....

Nokia Lumia 900 official — available on AT&T in ‘the coming months’

by Mike Macias 01.09.2012
Nokia Lumia 900 Black

Just a few minutes ago here at CES, Nokia announced their news Windows Phone coming to AT&T sometime this Spring. The Nokia Lumia 900 for AT&T will be 4G LTE capable and is powered by a GHz processor. The Windows Phone 7.5 (Mango) operating system runs very fast with a GHz processor so speed won’t be an issue. I’ve had my hands on the Nokia Lumia 710 for the past 24 hours and I’m surprised at how fast things run on the same processor found in the Lumia 900. Let’s take a look at some more detailed specs of this newly announced device, starting with the camera.

Thumbnail image for AT&T announces new global messaging packages

With the high cost of communicating internationally many have turned to other means (Skype, Fring, etc) to cut the cost and reduce the use of their cellular plan to communicate. Luckily, AT&T has introduced two new global messaging packages that will reduce costs to frequent travelers or occasional users. Global Messaging 200 — send 200 messages for $30/month Global Messaging 500 — send 500 messages for $50/month These costs are significantly reduced compared to AT&T’s pay-per-use costs of .50 cents per text message/instant message and $1.30 per picture/video message. These plans are currently available for addition to any mobile plan. Each Global Messaging plan include text, multimedia, and instant messaging. Source : AT&T
