Nokia 900

Nokia got lots of buzz this week at the Consumer Electronics show in Vegas about their newly announced Lumia 900 smartphone for AT&T. Like I mentioned in the Lumia 900 announcement, the official word from Nokia is it will be available in ‘the coming months’. I’ve received confirmation that the 900 will arrive during Quarter 1 which ends in March. My source also assured me that this won’t be another N8 debacle and come at the very end of the quarter (literally the last day). With that said I expect the Nokia Lumia 900 for AT&T to be .....

Nokia Lumia 900 official — available on AT&T in ‘the coming months’

Nokia Lumia 900 Black

Just a few minutes ago here at CES, Nokia announced their news Windows Phone coming to AT&T sometime this Spring. The Nokia Lumia 900 for AT&T will be 4G LTE capable and is powered by a GHz processor. The Windows Phone 7.5 (Mango) operating system runs very fast with a GHz processor so speed won’t be an issue. I’ve had my hands on the Nokia Lumia 710 for the past 24 hours and I’m surprised at how fast things run on the same processor found in the Lumia 900. Let’s take a look at some more detailed specs of this newly announced device, starting with the camera.

Thumbnail image for AT&T announces new global messaging packages

With the high cost of communicating internationally many have turned to other means (Skype, Fring, etc) to cut the cost and reduce the use of their cellular plan to communicate. Luckily, AT&T has introduced two new global messaging packages that will reduce costs to frequent travelers or occasional users. Global Messaging 200 — send 200 messages for $30/month Global Messaging 500 — send 500 messages for $50/month These costs are significantly reduced compared to AT&T’s pay-per-use costs of .50 cents per text message/instant message and $1.30 per picture/video message. These plans are currently available for addition to any mobile plan. Each Global Messaging plan include text, multimedia, and instant messaging. Source : AT&T

Looking to pick up a Android handset on the cheap? On September 18th Huawei will debut its first AT&T Android handset, the Impulse 4G. Mind you it isn’t the most mind blowing Android handset on the market but considering AT&T’s skimpy Android handset line-up, its something. The handset features a 3.8″ WVGA screen, Android 2.2, a 5MP autofocus camera with 720P video recording, Wi-Fi, GPS, and measures in at 11.6mm thick. The handset will retail for $29.99 on a two year contract.
