Earlier this week we explored the Optimus Black’s capability to stream and pull media using WiFi Direct while that was interesting its been done before on countless devices that have DLNA support. Good to know that this isn’t the only trick the Optimus Black has in store for its users. While mobile devices are serious business LG hasn’t forgotten about having fun, with an innovative 9 axis accelerometer called the G sensor the Optimus Black is capable of putting these sensors to use to control functions on the phone. While the software and gestures have not been finalized LG did hint the possibility of tilting the device up would reveal/drag down the notification bar or holding down the hardware sensor button and shaking it would activate the camera. The LG Optimus 2X might be positioned as its flagship but the Optimus Black is no slouch itself. The Optimus Black sports a 2MP front facing camera and 8MP rear camera, yet it maintains a thin profile measuring 9.2mm at its thickest point and 6mm at its thinnest. The device also packs an incredible NOVA display measuring 4 inches. Believe me when I say it the NOVA display looks amazing, and why shouldn’t it considering LG is the manufacturer of Apple’s much praised Retina display. The Optimus Black will have plenty of power thanks to its 1500 mAh battery and is running Android 2.2 with a custom LG interface titled Optimus UI 2.0. The LG Optimus 2X is Tegra2 (1GHz dual core) powered device with a 4″ display and 8MP camera. The device is relatively small for the amount of power it packs and runs Android 2.2. It has support for full HDMI out with mirroring. Not only does this allow you to play and view content from your phone, but it also allows for interaction.
