Accessory Review: Sony Ericsson MW600 Stereo Bluetooth Headset

by Alvin Wong 12.09.2011
MW600 Review

Last week I decided I would head out and purchase a new pair of earphones; I’ve been depending on the pair that came with my Xperia Mini Pro all this while and I decided it was time for something better. But rather than pick up yet another pair of wired earphones, I thought it’d be cool to pick up a pair of Bluetooth earphones instead. I was particularly attracted by the idea of no longer having to make sure my earphones didn’t catch on anything or anyone, especially in crowded places and on the train, and how I’d no longer fear bending or disconnecting my earphone plug when trying to retrieve my phone from the pocket of my jeans. I’m sure we’ve all experienced the unpleasant feeling of having earphones .....

Looking for a perfect micro SIM adapter? The Mobile Fanatics has you covered!

Looking for a perfect micro SIM adapter? The Mobile Fanatics has you covered!

One of the major drawbacks of using an iPhone 4 or other device that requires a micro SIM is the inability to move from device to device like you would if you had a standard SIM card. The micro SIM, due to its size, restricts you to using only other micro SIM devices. Luckily, many companies have created micro SIM adapters that allow you to place your micro SIM into a tray that will allow for use in a standard SIM slot. Unfortunately, like any cheaply produced product its easy for manufacturers to hop on the  train and produce inferior quality products.

Video: A quick look at the Nokia N9 original soft cover (CC-1020) that ships in the box

The Nokia N9 ships with a very nice cover that fits perfectly on the device. It’s made of a soft plastic (or rubber) material that adds good protection and grip. It’s not too sticky or gummy like you would find on some soft gel cases. To top things off soft cover CC-1020 for the N9 does not add much bulk or significantly alter the appeal of the phone. Various colors of the CC-1020 are starting to pop up on accessory websites and I’ll link those at the end of the article in-case you’re interested in changing the color of your Nokia N9. I created this hands-on video of the CC-1020 cover for the N9 to give you guys an idea of how it looks. I also remove the cover so .....

Steinheil Ultra Clear screen protector review

Thumbnail image for Steinheil Ultra Clear screen protector review

Often when purchasing a new mobile device one of the first accessories I seem to purchase is a screen protector. Although my past two devices were blessed with Corning’s Gorilla Glass I still found it necessary to protect it from those fine hairline scratches that for some reason always manage to appear mysteriously. I usually try to stick to a couple brands that I have been using for a couple years and this time was no different. Upon purchasing my Samsung Galaxy S2 I also purchased a screen protector from Clarivue. While I love the quality of the protector I really didn’t like the fit. The size of the protector was a tad bit too small, the cut outs were not flush and the bottom portion had two tabs that .....

Review: A camera tripod for your mobile phone

by Mike Macias 06.06.2011
Thumbnail image for Review: A camera tripod for your mobile phone

A decent camera has become a standard feature on most smartphones these days. A cameraphone with less than 5 megapixels is almost un-heard of with most shooting around 8MP. The use of the camera on a phone has exploded with people taking pictures of just about everything and sharing them with friends or family. Some take things to another level and capture some amazing photos that you would believe are taken with a high-end DSLR camera. Some of the photos found in the Mobile Fanatics Flickr Group are absolutely stunning examples of how advanced mobile phone cameras have become. If you are a photography enthusiast with your smartphone then you might want to consider a mobile phone tripod such as the one I’m reviewing here.

Photos: Nokia BH-905i white vs. black stereo bluetooth headphones

I recently got my hands on the black and white Nokia BH-905i stereo bluetooth headphones and snapped some photos of both colors next to eachother. The BH-905i’s have active noice cancellation, option for wired headphone use, playback and volume controls, built-in bass boost, stereo widening, and so much more! We’ve already posted our BH-905i review back in December where Timi Cantisano did a great job giving us a rundown of the headset.

Review: Nokia BH-214 Stereo Bluetooth Headphones

Oops, your headphones just popped out of your ears. Whether its from rigorous activities or just plain clumsiness it happens to all us at some point and the experience is irritating to say the least. Sometimes we make adjustments by using longer cords or take better care that we prevent it from happening. Another option is simply cutting the cord. The BH-214′s by Nokia attempt to due just that. It takes what you are used to and makes it wireless. Although the external packaging may differ depending on your country the internal contents should not. Inside the box you should expect a headset, various earphone plugs, a bluetooth module, a charger, and user guide. If you have unique ear canals, fret not! The BH-214′s come with two (small, large) extra .....

Motorola Atrix 4G Laptop Dock hands-on video and photo gallery

The Motorola Atrix 4G for AT&T just keeps popping up here on The Mobile Fanatics mainly because it seems to be able to accomplish so much. It’s not only a mobile phone, but can be converted into a media center and a laptop with the proper accessories. Similar to the media dock the laptop dock expands the capabilities of the Atrix 4G by giving the user a unique experience. Once connected the accessory takes over and the primary function of the mobile device changes. The laptop dock houses a 11.6″ screen, dual speakers, keyboard, trackpad, USB inputs, HDMI output, and 36Wh/3 cell battery that should theoretically allow for up to 8 hours of use. Much like the media dock you still retain the phone features but depending on the dock .....

Review: Nokia BH-905i stereo bluetooth headphones

Hear that? Its traffic outside or a couple having a conversation right next to you. Sure you could just put on some headphones, turn it up, and hope the music drowns it out. But why be uncomfortable when you can just cancel it all out. The Nokia BH-905i stereo bluetooth headphones are a must for anyone looking to have a good music experience that filters external noise so you can enjoy your music in a clean environment. To start the BH-905i’s come in a sturdy and quite bulky case that includes the headphones, power adapter, various headset adapters, and cables. The items are neatly packaged with the headphones surrounding the outer perimeter and a smaller leather case carrying the aforementioned accessories.

Nokia CP-503 carrying case video review for Nokia N8 and C7

by Timi Cantisano 12.06.2010
Thumbnail image for Nokia CP-503 carrying case video review for Nokia N8 and C7

Introduced as a stylish carrying case for the Nokia N8, the Nokia CP-503 has a soft fiber lining and leather exterior. The stitching is firm which helps to retain its boxy shape.  The unique feature of this carrying case is the drawstring in the back which pulls the phone out. While not necessary it does add an interesting design element. There is also small slit in the front that adds a bit of detail to the otherwise plain design. The case is available in three colors; white, black, and red.
