My Palm 500m recently died and I'm looking for a smart phone I can use with my Straight Talk service that I can use with features similar to the Palm. I need a calendar that will generate audible alerts more than a couple of beeps, contacts with customizable fields, etc. The Ipod Touch I just bought has a calendar that can't be edited (as far as I can figure out) and the audible alerts are only a couple of "brrrings" I can get Outlook on my desktop to sync with if that will work.

I think you can do that with the E71 but ,as you maybe know, the E72 is just a little more expensive than the E71 and more updated. What I would suggest you is to download the manuals of both phones and to check is they are able for performing your needs, and then take a decision

But the E71 can be used with the Straight Talk plans and the E72 can't. As per your iPod, you can set different alerts for that and have them repeat at set times.
