It feels like it’s been ages since Nokia announced they would have Windows Phone powering their devices. But in reality, it’s only been 8 months. Today, Nokia unleashed their first two devices running Windows Phone, dubbed the Nokia Lumia 700 and Lumia 800. The 800 is sexier of the two, but the 710 is priced to target the mid-range smartphone market. Let’s take a look at the specifications, photos, colors, price, and availability of the Nokia 700 and 800.

The Nokia Lumia 800 is running the Windows Phone 7.5 (Mango) OS and has 16GB inbuilt memory.

Key Specifications:

  • 142 g, 12.1 mm thick, 61.2 mm tall.
  • 3.7 ” ClearBlack AMOLED display, curved glass, 480×800 resolution.
  • 1.4 Ghz processor, 512 MB SDRAM memory.
  • 1450 mAh battery, 9.5 hours  3G talk time, 335 hours 3G standby time.
  • Camera specs: 8 megapixels, f/2.2, dual-LED flash, touch focus, dedicated camera button, autofocus, Carl Zeiss optics.

The Nokia Lumia 710 is running Windows Phone 7.5 (Mango) and has 8GB inbuilt memory.

  • 3.7″ ClearBlack display, TFT, 480×800 resolution.
  • 1.4 Ghz processor, 512 MB SDRAM memory.
  • 1300 mAh battery, 7.6 hours 3G talk time, 400 hours 3G standby time.
  • Camera specs: 5 megapixels, f/2.4, single-LED flash, touch focus, dedicated camera button.

The Nokia 710 will be available in the following colors: black and white, with a whole bunch of different colored covers to put on the back.

Nokia says,

“Both smartphones include signature Nokia experiences optimized for Windows Phone, including Nokia Drive, which delivers a full-fledged personal navigation device (PND) with free, turn-by-turn navigation and dedicated in-car-user-interface; and Nokia Music introducing MixRadio, a free, global, mobile music-streaming application that delivers hundreds of channels of locally-relevant music. In an update delivered later this year, Nokia Lumia users will also gain the ability to create personalized channels from a global catalogue of millions of tracks.”

Availability

According to Nokia:

“The new Nokia Lumia 800 is now available in select countries for pre-order on www.nokia.com and is scheduled to roll-out across France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and the UK in November, with 31 leading operators and retailers providing unprecedented marketing support in those first six countries. It is scheduled to be available in Hong Kong, India, Russia, Singapore and Taiwan before the end of the year, and in further markets in early 2012.

The Nokia Lumia 710 is scheduled to be available first in Hong Kong, India, Russia, Singapore and Taiwan toward the end of the year alongside the Nokia Lumia 800, before becoming available in further markets in early 2012.”

The Nokia 710 is also showing up at NokiaUSA.com so it’s only a matter of time before an announcement is made about North American availability.
