Its been a couple days since the launch of the much hyped LG G2X from T-Mobile while initial reviews stated that the phone had support for ATT 3G (850/1900 bands) it seems that many early adopters unlocking the handset via T-Mobile and 3rd party sites are finding that ATT 3G is unavailable, only being left with 2G. While its unclear whether this is due to a baseband lockout or unavailable hardware support, we have yet to hear official word from either LG or T-Mobile. Many are looking to the community for a solution in hopes that a new ROM for the device will unlock the needed baseband. For those interested XDA-forums has a lively post regarding the 3G lockout issue. As for myself I am still waiting for an unlock code from a third party after being rejected from T-Mobile directly. I will update this post as soon as I have tested this for myself.
