Alert: The Nokia 808 PureView with 41-megapixel camera (upgrade to N8) is now available at Amazon.com!
Until now Nokia N8 and C7 owners haven’t had a decent YouTube viewing solution. With the launch of the Nokia E7 sometime this month the timing couldn’t be better. There are a few 3rd party applications I’ve tried out but nothing worth mentioning. Symbian users will be glad to hear the official YouTube app is out for the Nokia N8, C7, E7, and C6-01.

Go to http://m.google.com from your device.
This version has pretty much the same feature set that the YouTube app for S60 devices have had for awhile. You can sign in and view your favorites, subscriptions, playlists, & your videos. Also available is top rated, most viewed, and most recent videos. You still cannot upload videos via the YouTube application but hey, that’s what PixelPipe is for.

The clarity of the video from the screenshot above is not very good. YouTube serves up a smaller file when you’re on anything but a WiFi connection. I’d rather get a nicer video when over 3G, but that isn’t the case here. Over WiFi the video quality is very nice. For now we’ll have to make do with this solution. Hopefully a 3rd party dev comes along with something nicer.
